Slagerij have just released a new EP called Serious Fun and they will be playing tracks from the EP tonight at their home town gig.

Originally the band were due to support The Skids this evening, but following the cancellation of the gig at the Meca, the band were offered the chance to play in Level 111 in Swindon’s Commercial Road instead. As this was the perfect opportunity to say thank you to their loyal Swindon fans they decide to perform a free gig.

The three-piece are Martin Montier on guitar, Matthew Dennehy on bass and Aidan O’Neill on drums. This summer they will be supporting HR, lead singer from American punk band Bad Brains, on his solo UK tour, kicking off at the Rebellion Rock Festival in August at Blackpool.

The Swindon outfit have gradually built a name for themselves, winning support slots with the UK Subs and US punk pioneers Dead Kennedys. They have toured America in their own right all along the West Coast playing in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and San Francisco.

As well as saying thank you to their Swindon fans Slagerij like to give local musicians a helping hand, so at Level 3 they will be having Chippenham pop punk band, The Hero Of a Boring Story, will open for them.

The doors open at 8pm in Swindon for the free gig which is for 14 years plus. For more details visit www.facebook.com/slagerijuk
