FIREFIGHTERS rushed to Royal Wootton Bassett after receiving reports of a fire alarm sounding in a house.

One crew from Swindon drove to the Mulberrys at 6.45pm on Saturday evening to discover what had triggered the alarm.

The attending crew who arrived quickly to the scene confirmed that a small fire in a second floor flat was already out before the arrival of the Fire and Rescue service.

The crews carried out a home fire safety visit while at the property.

On the same day, one crew from Stratton fire station were mobilised to a report of a fire on Jutland Avenue at 4.09pm.

When they arrived at the scene, the crews found a refuse bin ablaze bin and extinguished it.

Earlier that morning, a crew of firefighters from Westlea fire station extinguished another bin fire on Gainsborough Way in Swindon with a hose reel jet. They were called there at 5.13am.
