An empty care home in Old Town could be returned to its original purpose.
The three-story, six bedroom house at 153 Goddard Avenue in the centre of Swindon has been used as a care home for people with learning difficulties, but developers now want planning permission to return it to its original state as a dwelling house.
The applicants Dimensions UK, which specialises in providing support and care for people with learning difficulties and autism, say: "The building is currently registered as a care home and is unoccupied. The change of use to domestic use will allow Dimensions to focus on more suitable care home properties within the area."
The application says the lay out of the building will not change - with a kitchen, dining room lounge and one bedroom on the ground floor and five bedrooms and three bathrooms on the upper floors.
