A CONTROVERSIAL retrospective planning bid to store vehicles at Braydon Lane Garage near Cricklade is to be decided by planners next Wednesday.
The town council has objected to the application, raising concerns about the impact on surrounding roads, drainage and the local ecology. But planning officers have recommended approval.
The site is being used for buying and selling lorries.
In a report to the northern area planning committee, case officer Lee Burman said the site, which is near a moated scheduled ancient monument at Chelworth Farm, said it would have economic benefits in terms of job creation and business expansion.
He added that it did not conflict with national planning policies and recommended approval with conditions including shrub, hedge and tree replanting and a limit of 30 vehicles store on the site at any one time.
The planning committee meets at Wiltshire Council's Chippenham offices at 3pm on January 30 and the session is in public.
