NORTH Swindon MP Justin Tomlinson branded as unacceptable continuing problems facing patients trying to book GP appointments at five doctors’ practices.
Since Integrated Medical Holdings introduced the new central call-handling system last year, patients have complained of difficulties in booking appointments and getting hold of prescriptions.
IMH says it has employed more staff at its call centre and waiting times are coming down. However, patients have complained they still face difficulties.
Mr Tomlinson, who has previously met with IMH chiefs to discuss the issues, said: “Despite improvements towards the end of last year, there have been more complaints in the new year in regards to the phone system.
“I have made it clear that these long waits are unacceptable.
"There are other surgeries in Swindon which have joined together in similar partnerships, yet are not having the same issues with the phones.
“I will continue to push for much needed improvements in more emails, meetings and telephone calls this week.”
