The construction of a new 21st century sports hub at the County Ground in Swindon has moved one step closer to fruition.

Swindon Borough Council's planners have signed off on the plans put forward bt Swindon Town's Football in the Community Trust for how the new facility's access of County Road will be managed.

Making sure that the junction with the busy man road, just off the Magic Roundabout, and the new grounds, right next door to the football stadium, was one of the main conditions imposed upon the trust when it was granted planning permission for its scheme.

When completed the ground will see a new 3G all-weather artificial pitch, floodlit, with a new car park and a two storey pavilion.

The brand new facilities will be available for community use.
