TWO council meetings will be held in Highworth next week.

The planning committee and environment and leisure committees will hold their monthly gatherings at the council's offices on Gilberts Lane.

First, the latest planning applications for the town will be discussed from 7pm on Tuesday.

Anyone with an application up for discussion will be allowed to speak for at most five minutes.

Unusually, there's only one application on the agenda this time - a proposal for a replacement garden retaining wall and timber fence panels, plus replacement garden steps and a gazebo, all to be constructed at a property on Windrush.

There will also be a reminder to councillors and the public that mobile phones should be silenced, following an unwelcome disruption at the last council meeting.

The environment and leisure meeting will follow immediately after the planning meeting.

On the short agenda is a discussion of correspondence received by the council and any members' business that has been conducted since the last meeting.
