THREE teens have been arrested on suspicion of burglary after the alarm was raised about a break in.

The trio, who wore grey hoodies and black coats, fled the scene in Grosvenor Road yesterday at about 2.45pm – two of them on bikes.

But they were tracked down by officers, with the help of a member of the public, to Rushey Platt play park.

As they moved in to intercept them near Sword Gardens, the suspects tried to flee again, but were caught after a chase.

An 18-year-old man from Marlborough has been arrested on suspicion of burglary, possession with intent to supply Class B drugs and going equipped for theft.

An 18-year-old and a boy of 16, both from Swindon have each been arrested on suspicion of burglary.

Jewellery, watches and car keys were recovered by the officers along with a metal safe in a black holdall.

The teenagers were taken to Gablecross Police Station for questioning.
