A PROLIFIC shoplifter from Swindon who stole £500 worth of goods has been sentenced to 44 weeks in prison for six separate thefts.
Christopher Anthony Desantos, 30 from Lilac Court, Pinehurst pleaded guilty to the thefts from the Co-op on Beechcroft and Cricklade Road, Superdrug, Wilkos, Debenhams and Footasylum.
It is reported by police that between January 9 and February 4 of this year, Desantos stole over £500 worth of items including an electric toothbrush, male grooming kits, sportswear, six air fresheners, meat and aftershave.
Desantos was capurtured on CCTV and identified or caught in the act by witnesses.
PC John Kilburn: "We'd like to thank the stores and witnesses who helped identify Desantos and enable us to put him before the courts. We are pleased with the custodial sentence."
