SWINDON Scrapstore is urgently looking for more warehouse space to store craft materials for local children.

The social enterprise said it has been overwhelmed with donations in the last month and desperately needs warehouse space to store scrap materials used to help provide low-cost creative activities for families and children.

Project manager Olivia McCann told the Adver: "We are bursting at the seams, we've tried contacting the council and commercial landlords but haven't had any success.

"Somewhere where we can store 26 pallets, or anything we can get our hands on - that would be really helpful."

The warehouse space doesn't need to be close to its current location on the Elgin Industrial Estate.

Some respondents on social media suggested using the disused Toys R Us building, which closed in March last year.

The Swindon charity says that it directly benefits the community by providing low-cost resources to more than 50,000 people each year.

Any one who can offer additional storage space is being asked to contact Olivia on 07739023290.
