Paintings by LS Lowry, Graham Sutherland and Alfred Wallis, along with more recent work by Nicola Tyson, Eileen Cooper and Allen Jones will all be on display in a new exhibition at Swindon Art Gallery and Museum.
All the paintings have been given to the museum by benefactors, and the exhibition, Gifted! shows the bequests to the museum which have made it's collection "one of the most important collections of modern British art outside of London."
Benefactors have included Jimmy Bomford and Frederick Phelps, and the Contemporary Art Society and Art Fund has long supported the museum, but smaller gifts have come from the Campaign to Protect Rural England and Soroptimist International.
Swindon Art Gallery and Museum, in Bath Road is open Tuesday to Saturday, 11am to 4.30pm.
