A BURST pipe left roads in Stratton flooded and homes without water for hours.

It happened on West End Road and flooded the surrounding area including Day’s Close.

Nigel Chalk of Day’s Close said the flooding went on for hours: “The burst happened around midday and the street was flooded within 30 minutes. After several calls to Thames Water by residents, Thames eventually arrived around 2pm. The water was isolated at 2.15pm and was still off at 7pm with team digging down to the leak.”

A spokesperson for Thames Water said:“We’re sorry for any disruption caused by the burst pipe. Our engineers were at the scene promptly and able to complete the repair in a few hours.”
