This half term acting classes for young people in Swindon are being held at Prime Theatre.

Prime has received funding from Arts Council England to run three focused workshops for young actors aged five-18. This is the first time this high-quality training is open to young people beyond existing Prime Youth Theatre members.

From their base at Swindon’s Wyvern theatre, Prime offers regular workshops and performance opportunities for young people from all different backgrounds and levels of experience.

Youngest participants, between the ages of five-10, can enjoy a two-day experience creating their own performance inspired by Grimm’s Fairy Tales.

Actors aged 10-14 will take part in a day-long Improvisation Masterclass. This workshop will teach the basics of improvisation – games, working with team mates, and building stories.

Ages 14-18 will work as both actors and directors. This workshop is ideal for those looking to develop their GCSE or A level course work, or a fun place to try something new.

Workshops will be run by Prime’s Associate Director, Emma Barr. Emma said: “We are thrilled we can host these exciting workshops this half term. Its perfect for young actors who are looking for a crash course in techniques and performance but also a place for any young person who wants to feel creative and have a bit of fun!”

Arts Council England funding means that we are able to offer these workshops for £30 per day, or £55 for two-day course. Subsidised places are available to ensure that everyone can take part. To book a place call 01793 614864 or visit www.primetheatre.co.uk
