A ROMANTIC comedy about death will be performed on the final day of the Swindon Fringe Festival.
Stand up poet and ex-psychiatric nurse Rob Gee returns to the festival on April 14 at Swindon Dance from 7.30pm.
His show Death - A Romantic Comedy begins with a man called Sebastian waking up with memory loss and attached to a coffin, then encounters a mortuary attendant and a polyamorous octogenarian.
Rob said: “I was commissioned by the NHS to write a comedy quiz show about breast, lung and bowel cancer, which I thought at the time was an ambitious subject for comedy. That started me writing more about death generally, which led to this show. I wanted to write a story about death that was really a celebration of life.”
The show will close the festival as part of a double-bill with acclaimed drama Everything Wrong With You Is Beautiful. To book tickets, which cost £10 online and £12 on the door, visit swindonfringefestival.com
