A MAN was taken to hospital in Swindon with serious head injuries.

The victim, who is in his 20s, collapsed in GWH after being taken there with facial injuries on Sunday evening.

His condition is described as serious but stable.

It is not yet clear if a crime has been committed or if he sustained his injuries accidentally, so enquiries are ongoing.

Wiltshire Police are appealing for information.

Det Sgt Adam Leakey, from Swindon CID, said: “We believe the victim was involved in an argument or disorder in Eastcott Street, in New Town, at around 6.40pm and then again in Havelock Street, at around 7.15pm.

“As we don’t know how he came to be injured we are interested in speaking to anyone who either witnessed either of these incidents or who was directly involved in them.”
