A VEGAN hair salon owner will host an all-you-can eat meal to support a charity fighting against animal testing.

Owner of Pixal-Rose Hair design, Kelly Vowles, is running the event at Oriental Aroma in Royal Wootton Bassett on March 17 to raise money for Animal Free Research UK and to promote non-animal techniques in the cosmetic industry and medical research.

For Kelly, who uses products that have not been tested on animals, said: “A lot of cosmetic industries are still testing their products on animals and I want to show them that there is a different way without the need of hurting animals,” she said.

She aims to raise at least £1,000 over the year.

“We will be celebrating animals, so in respect of all animals, there won’t be any meat and all food will be vegan.

“It is the first time I’m organising it and as part of my New Year resolutions I want to raise money for this charity. They are doing a lot to help animals.”

For £20, people will access to the buffet and enjoy a wide variety of Chinese specialities. Diners can also take part in a charity raffle, and a Karaoke with all proceeds going towards the charity. Irish dancers will provide entertainment during the evening.

“Everyone is welcome, it’s not only for vegans,” said Kelly.
