A World Music night kicks off next week with DJs Brendan Hamley and David Corrigan on the decks.

Brendan and David are both regulars at The Beehive on Prospect Hill in Old Town which is where they plan to launch the Beehive World Music Club.

Brendan said: “Many people get their fix of World Music yearly at WOMAD (the hugely popular local festival), but we want to keep that vibe going throughout the yea.”

David added: “Everyone’s welcome and from all cultures. We’d really like people to come along to share and discover new music with us and hear the sort of stuff not available anywhere else round these parts. There’s so much thrilling music out there in the big wide world and we can’t wait to share it. So there will be brilliant sounds, great company, fine beers (obviously) and maybe even occasional dancing.”

The Beehive World Music Club starts on Wednesday, February 27 at 8pm and thereafter, on the last Wednesday of every month. Colourful multi-patterned shirts are optional.
