We asked for you to tell us the best places for real ale in Swindon. And lots of you did. Here’s your top four...

FOR Wayne Giles it is the Hop Inn, 7 Devizes Road, Old Town, that is first past the post.

The Hop Inn has past the milestone of serving up it’s 2000th cask ale! Apart from the “house” bitter (Hop Inn Ale from Ramsbury Brewery) the bar changes beers every barrel. The pub does repeat beers but not very often, as there are thousands of ales out there so their mantra is to regard the b r as an on-going beer festival.

The pub also has a large selection of lagers, imported beers, ciders, wines, quality spirits and now handmade pizzas.

KIERON Horler agrees that the Hop Inn serves an excellent real ale but says The Tuppenny, Devizes Road, Old Town also gets his vote.

The pub is a specialist purveyor of craft drinks. The bar stocks a large range of craft beer on tap alongside spirits crafted into stone-cold classic cocktails. TELEPHONE: 01793 323643 WEBSITE: https:// thetuppenny.com/

FOR Andrew White it is the Hop Kettle Brewery Tap at Unit 4, Newcombe Drive Hawkesworth Industrial Estate, that is top of the real ale pops.

TIM Sherhod agrees saying without a doubt it is the Brewery Tap @ Hop Kettle that serves up the best pint of real ale.

The Hop Kettle Brewing Co was founded by Tom Gee, and with over two decades of experience in hospitality, he has an insider’s understanding of the drinks industry, and the technical knowledge required to create one-ofa-kind brews.

KA Ron says it is The Beehive, Prospect Hill, Old Town, that wears the crown for real ale fans.

Tucked away behind what used to be the Swindon College, within yards of the new Regent Circus development, the pub serves up to six real ales and a new range of craft beers and wine list too! There is a very simple menu: a selection of pies with mash and gravy. All meat pies are made by the local butcher and perfect with a pint!
