TWO MEN have been arrested on suspicion of multiple driving offences, including ramming a police car in Swindon yesterday.
Officers attempted to stop a Volkswagen Golf seen to be driving at speed with no insurance in Pinehurst area. The vehicle was stopped in Cirencester Way, and then reverse rammed a police car in Firethorn Close.
Two men were then detained, with a 42-year-old local man being arrested on suspicion of taking a vehicle without consent. He was taken to Gablecross custody for questioning.
A 38-year-old was arrested on suspicion of taking a vehicle without consent, dangerous driving, failing to stop, drug-driving and driving while disqualified. He was initially taken to GWH as a precaution before being taken to Gablecross custody.
Anyone who witnessed the VW being driven or the collision itself, should call 101 and quote log number 141 of February 21.
