Walkers who enjoy the bucolic peace and beauty to be find alongside the Wilts and Berks canal, even in the middle of a busy town like Swindon can nominate it for a national award.
The Ramblers' Association is looking for nominations for Britain's Best Walking Neighbourhood - and the Canal and River Trust says Swindon walkers can nominate their favourite waterway spot.
A spokesman for the trust said: "We know many enjoy walking along our local canal, so it’s time to nominate it for Britain’s Best Walking Neighbourhood."
Nominations for Swindon's canal to win the annual award should be made before March 3 and can be made through the Ramblers' Association at www.ramblers.org.uk/nominate
