SWINDON: A couple who failed to send their son to school regularly between June 18 and July 17 last year have each been fined a total of £880.

The cases against the pair were found proved in their absence and they were each fined £440 and told to pay a victim surcharge of £44 along with prosecution costs of £60.

ALDBOURNE: Lewis Wheeler, 18, of Berton Close, Blunsdon, was fined by Swindon magistrates after he was seen with an imitation fire arm and a friction lock baton in Aldbourne.

The teen was charged with possession of an offensive weapon and having a black Glock BB gun in a public place without reasonable excuse on January 11. He appeared with Lucas Stacey, 18, of Lottage Road, Aldbourne, who was charged with possessing an offensive weapon.

Both pleaded guilty to the charges. Wheeler was fined a total of £100, Stacey was fined £50. Each had to pay £40 prosecution costs and £30 towards victim services.

SWINDON: Mohammed Abdul of East Wichel Way, East Wichel was fined £449 after he admitted using threatening behaviour towards another man. The 33-year-old was told he must also pay £44 towards victim services and £85 prosecution costs.

SWINDON: A girl of 15 was given a six-month referral order after she was convicted of stealing a pushchair valued at £1,000 from Mothercare at the Greenbridge retail store with an older woman.

The teen pleaded guilty to the theft, which happened on September 6 and was told to pay £15 towards victim services.

SWINDON: Jordan Allaway, 20, of Rose Street, Rodbourne, was banned from driving for a year after he was caught with more than the legal limit of cannabis in his system.

Swindon magistrates heard he drove a Toyota Corolla on Drakes Way on July 15 with a level of 6.9 mcg of the drug in his system. The legal limit is 2mcg. He was fined £240 with £30 towards victim services and £85 court costs on the top.

SWINDON: Rajinder Bansal, 20, of Bodiam Drive, Toothill, was disqualified from getting behind the wheel for 16 months after he appeared before Swindon magistrates and pleaded guilty to drink driving.

When he was breathalysed Bansal gave a reading of 60 mcg in his system when the legal limit is 35. The bench fined him £276 with costs of £85 and a £30 victim surcharge.

SWINDON: Corey Gunn, 20 of Culvery Court, Harding Street, was told he must pay £50 compensation to his victim after he pleaded guilty to a charge of assault on another man. Gunn was also instructed to pay costs of £40.

SWINDON: Ales Hammond, 23, of Petersfield Road, was banned from the roads for a year after he pleaded guilty to a charge of drug driving.

Swindon magistrates heard he had a level of 6.6mcg in his system when he drove a Renault Clio in Pipers Way on August 29 last year. The legal limit is 2mcg.

He was told to pay a total £115 victim surcharge and court costs along with a £120 fine.

SWINDON: Liam O’Neill, 34 of Ballie Close, Tadpole Garden Village was handed a conditional discharge by magistrates for 12 months after admitting assaulting a man and a woman on January 5.

O’Neill must pay £40 compensation, £40 costs and a £20 contribution to victim services.

SWINDON: Adesola Ogundogba, 23, of The Shoreway, St Mary’s Island, Chatham, was told to pay a total of £485 after he admitted drink driving in Beatrice Street.

Magistrates heard he was breathalysed on January 6 and a level of 52 mcg was recorded. The legal limit is 35mcg. He was banned from driving for 14 months and fined £364 along with court costs and a victim surcharge.

SWINDON: Dean Skinner, 42, of Foxbridge, Covingham, drove a van on Morse Street when he had cocaine in his system, magistrates heard.

Skinner was caught on September 30 and tests showed he had a level of 22mcg of the drug in his blood, over the legal limit of 10mcg. He was also over the limit for Benzoylecgonine

He admitted both charges and was disqualified for 18 months, fined £276 and told to pay £70 in victim surcharge and prosecution costs.
