THE MET office has issued a yellow weather warning covering Swindon as storm Freya is set to hit most of England and Wales.
It said to expect very strong winds, with some travel disruption and possible dangerous conditions late Sunday and into Monday.
The warning adds: “Some damage to buildings and trees, such as tiles blown from roofs and fallen branches, could happen.
“Road, rail, air and ferry services may be affected, with longer journey times and cancellations possible, with some bridges being closed as well.”
“Power cuts may occur, with the potential to affect other services, such as mobile phone coverage.”
The storm could also bring snow to some areas more than 656ft (200m) above sea level.
Storm Freya is expected to hit the UK around 3pm and last until 6am on Monday morning.
