Britain's Got Talent finalist, Micky P Kerr, is hoping that Swindon Town Football Club will get on board his campaign to rewrite football songs.

The Swindon Arts Centre is the musical comedian's first date on his debut tour and he hopes football clubs around the country will send him in requests. He has already re-written Bohemian Rhapsody into a football chant for the manager of Leeds Utd. It can be heard on his phatchants@mickypkerr podcast.

Micky, himself from Leeds, is a huge football fan and supporter of the club.

He is also the hero of his class at Leeds primary school where he is a part time teacher.

"The kids were going mental at school when I was on Britain's Got Talent,'' said Micky. "I love the school, they are so supportive of my comedy and on the three days I am there I get a bit of normality and routine. Even the Ofsted officers came in and wanted a selfie,'' he said.

The comedian says that he nearly blew it on Britain's Got Talent by taking the mickey out of Simon Cowell, when he was standing in the queue.

"It was supposed to be a bit of fun. I said something about Simon not knowing what a bag for life is. Everyone laughed, so I started singing the Bag For Life song. I was told no!'' he said.

Unbeknown to Micky, David Walliams had taken a shine to the comedian, and stuck his neck out for him with Simon, to get the comedian through to the semi finals.

"A few weeks later David Walliams private messaged me to say he would get me in,'' said Micky.

"There was a lot of waiting around and interviews. It was the most nerve wracking of my life. I had never done TV before and all I could think was: OMG suppose I freeze, go blank or panic! But once I was out there, it all fell into place,'' he said.

His Bag For Life song is now famous in its own right, and he sang it at the 2017 Edinburgh Fringe, to much acclaim.

Micky started off as a musician, but now says the comedy comes first. When he comes to Swindon with his new show, Z-List Celebrity, he will be telling tales about filming backstage at the famous talent show, he will be singing some songs, indulging in a little light social commentary and simply making people laugh.

Micky has had a life-changing year including the birth of a little baby boy to join his three-year-old daughter Isobel.

"It is tough spending time away from them, but it is an adventure of opportunities,'' he said.

Micky says his biggest break was on Live At The Apollo in front of 800,000 crowd.

The comic went back to singing in a charity collaboration with Shaun Ryder from the Happy Mondays and Johnny Vegas on a 2017 Christmas single called ThankUNHS.
