POLICE have confirmed the incident that saw officers rush to Pinehurst on Saturday morning was a stabbing.

A 52-year-old Milton Keynes man was stabbed in the thigh and also suffered cuts to his hand. A London man, 38, suffered a head injury.

Both men have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

The older man has been released on bail and the younger released under suspicion.

Wiltshire Police said the two men were suspected of having injured each other, with the fight beginning in a house on Clays Close, Upper Stratton. “They are known to each other and we are not looking for anyone else,” a force spokeswoman said.

Officers were called after 6am on Saturday morning to the Premier Express corner shop on Whitworth Road, opposite the Moonrakers pub.

A crime scene cordon was in place outside the store for several hours on Saturday morning.

This week, Wiltshire Police is taking part in national anti-knife campaign Op Sceptre.
