SCHOOLCHILDREN from Swindon have been invited to take part in a strike protest outside the council offices on Friday.
The demonstration, which has been organised by the local branch of campaign movement Extinction Rebellion, will see protestors meet outside the borough offices on Euclid Street.
It is one of a string of events expected to take place around the world on Friday.
On social media, organisers of the Swindon demo said: "Students and young people all around the world will strike from school to demand action on the climate catastrophe."
Last month, an estimated 15,000 children took part in school strikes around the UK. In London, 15-year-old Christina told the BBC: "We often stay quiet but when it comes to climate change we are going to have to pay for the older generation's mistakes."
The Swindon Youth Strike 4 Climate event is on Friday, March 15, 12pm to 2pm. For more, search for the Facebook event.
