A MEMORIAL service will celebrate the life of 1969 hero Danny Williams this weekend.

The former Swindon Town manager, who steered the club to cup victory 50-years-ago, died last month aged 94.

Rev Simon Stevenette, the club chaplain, will lead the memorial service at Christ Church on Saturday.

Mr Williams' family will attend the service, together with some of the Town players who triumphed in the club's 3-1 victory over Arsenal at Wembley.

A book of condolence, already signed by many supporters, will be brought to Saturday's memorial service should anyone want to pay further tribute.

All are welcome at the service, which starts at 10am at Christ Church, Cricklade Street. People are asked to arrive 10 minutes before the start of the service.
