Lots of you chose Toby Carvery as your favourite. Reader Sharon Pickett says she loves it. Joanne Livingstone says she seconds that. “I love it too, gorgeous food.” Ayeshia Rigley says “Mmm! love Toby’s roast.” Phillip Skeates says he totally agrees with Toby Carvery - “it’s lovely!” Our last reviewer agreed.

The carvery restaurant features slow-cooked meats, eight lots of veg including crispy, ruffled roasties and all the trimmings every day of the week. The meat is UK sourced, farm assured from grass-fed or free range farms that meet Red Tractor standards.

The Rat Trap, Highworth Road, Swindon SN3 4QS

For Gary Allbright it is The Rat Trap because of their 'giant Yorkshire puds', while Mia Elizabeth Dan told us it was the Rat Trap 'for shooooo'.

Fanny Stroud, the landlady of the Speed and Plough pub as it was called in 1859, had a foolproof method for ensuring her customers paid their accounts promptly. She simply locked her customers in the pub on pay day until they paid up. Pretty soon the locals were calling the pub The Rat Trap and this nickname became so interchangable with its official name that even court records referred to both in 1875, but it wasn’t until 1974 after a refurbishment that Arkells endorsed the nickname. It's been a while since the Adver reviewed it but we definitely liked it when we did!

The Kembrey Inn, Larch Close, Kembrey Business Park, Swindon

Andrew Little says it has to be the Kembrey Inn, because they are very generous with the meat and you can go back more than once for veggies. Trip Advisor reviewers rate it as 'second to none' and a 'hidden gem'.

The Barbury Inn, Broad Hinton, Swindon

Paul Alibone recommens the Barbury Inn because of its quality local produce and it's charming atmosphere. A Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence Winner for the last three years running, when the Adver last reviewed it, we thought it was great.

The Ridge, Shaw Leisure Park, Whitehill Way, Swindon SN5 7DN

Reader Amanda Stanyer plumped for The Ridge and their 'lovely roast dinner with all the trimmings and a properly cooked cauliflower cheese!! Yum....'. We reviewed the Ridge just after it opened and agreed it was well worth a visit.
