A STRATTON St Margaret parish councillor has died suddenly.
Friends and colleagues of John Foley Junior expressed deep shock and regret at the news. The 56-year-old died on March 7.
The parish council’s chairman Coun Stuart Leach said: “John had served Stratton St Margaret Parish Council for many years representing the people of Upper Stratton and was a serving member on the Open Spaces Committee.
“Although John was never a great contributor to debate on resolutions, John nevertheless always listened keenly to the points raised before voting.
“Our thoughts are with his partner Alison and his parents John and Eileen at this sad time, all of whom are long-serving parish councillors.”
The parish council announced the sad news on social media earlier this week. Marcy MB replied: "He was my neighbour for many years. A shock for my parents who still live there. RIP 'Little' John."
