A PROLIFIC burglar who smashed his way into a Swindon home has been jailed.

Baydon man Frankie O’Dwyer stole jewellery from the house on Grosvenor Road on Tuesday, February 5.

And the 18-year-old, who pleaded guilty to burglary, admitted a string of other thefts committed across Swindon and Wiltshire between August 2018 and February 2019.

In total, the teenager coughed 13 more break-ins. Of these, 12 were burglaries of homes.

He was sentenced to three years' imprisonment.

Det Con Jared Yalden, of the Community Tasking Team, said: “I want to praise the actions of our officers who located the suspect promptly and in possession of the stolen items.

“This case is another example of how determined Wiltshire Police and the Community Tasking Team are to bring those responsible for these types of crimes to justice”.
