DIRTY flood water is making the lives of a Collingbourne Ducis couple a misery.
Melvin and Kathleen Bryant, who live in Cadley Road, say they have complained to Wiltshire Highways about drains which are unable to cope with excess water during downpours.
It means their home and vehicles are splashed by passing traffic and leaving them with a temporary river to cross when leaving their home.
In reply Highways said: “We have previously cleared the surface water drainage system and will do so again this week to ensure the system is clear. Although we are committed to ensuring the system is clear, this will not prevent water from coursing down the road during periods of torrential rainfall due to the topography of the road. During periods of extensive rainfall, issues such as these will affect a large number of Wiltshire’s roads.”
