CONTRACTORS are preparing to lift Wichelstowe’s new 28 tonne footbridge into place.
The 35 metre bridge will straddle the Wilts and Berks Canal, connecting Waitrose with the Hall and Woodhouse pub.

It was delivered to the site last Sunday, with project managers having to wait for last week’s storms to subside before they could lift the bridge by crane.
The lift is expected to take place between 11am and midday.
