A CARE home donated enough money for Swindon Hospital to purchase innovative cups for an entire ward.
Savernake View Care Home, in Marlborough, handed a cheque of £165 to Brighter Futures, the Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust charity, to purchase six new droplet cups – which are equipped with a device
that tells patients when to drink.
According to trust staff, it will make it easier for carers and health care professionals to detect if a patient is not drinking regularly enough.
Jane Leighton from Brighter Futures said: “This is fantastic example of how local people can make a tangible difference and enhance care at the trust.”
Sharon Villegas from Savernake View Care Home said: “We are proud to be able to donate the cups to patients at the GWH who need that extra bit of support and we will continue to support our local community and Brighter Futures through our upcoming fundraising events and raffles.”
