A VARIETY show of song and dance from young performers of all ages will grace the stage at the Wyvern this weekend.

The Now That's What I Call Dance, by Wootton Bassett Dance, will see performers as young as two and half join 19-year-olds on stage to showcase a mixture of ballet, modern, tap, acrobatics, with group and solo singing.

Teacher Vicky Lawrence, who has been working on the show for the last six months, told the Adver: "They are all very much looking forward to it, some of them have never done a show at the Wyvern, they're a bit more nervous but most of them are buzzing about it.

"I can't wait to see the parents' faces at the end, knowing how hard they are all worked.

"To see it come together makes me feel all emotional," she said, "in a happy way - we're all like a big family."

The costumes have been made by local Swindon dressmaker J Dance Designs, which the school also used for their last show.

"She did all those costumes from scratch," added Vicky, "She's just amazing, we are very lucky to have her."

The dance school has been running for 27 years, taking its performers to compete at the Dance World Cup and all the way to the Royal Albert Hall.

There will be three showings at the Wyvern this weekend, with two on Saturday at 2pm and 7pm, and the last on Sunday at 4pm.
