SHADOW Home Secretary Diane Abbott is visiting Swindon tomorrow.

The Labour MP for Hackney North and Stoke Newington will meet with Unite union members and Honda workers to deliver a message of solidarity from her and fellow party members.

Unite regional officer Alan Tomala said: "It's great that Diane Abbott will be taking time from her busy schedule to meet with Honda logistics workers. It means a lot to workers whose jobs are on the line to know that they have the backing of Jeremy Corbyn and the Labour party’s shadow front bench.

The MP’s visit comes a week before a planned march through the town centre which aims to rally residents and persuade Honda executives to change their minds about closing the Swindon plant which employs more than 3,500 workers and provides business to an estimated 12,000 more in the local area.
