A BROTHER and sister have teamed up to raise money for Prospect Hospice in memory of their dad who died two years ago.

Daniel Horgan, owner of Upper Cuts Barbershop in Royal Wootton Bassett , joined sister Natasha for a hair-themed fundraiser in memory of dad Christopher Horgan, who died aged 51.

Daniel gave his customers a trim for a minimum £5 donation -with all proceeds going towards the hospice at Wroughton - and Natasha organised a crazy hair day at Imagine Cruising.

He told the Adver: “They looked after my dad well, but it wasn’t just him, they looked after us as well. They’ve got these apartments, because I live in Stratton and its in Wroughton, and they let me stay in there for two months, all free of charge.

“Before my dad died he said he wanted to raise money for them as well, so that’s why I did it.”

He added: “I had a lot of people and business owners were coming in and donating. A lot of people who came in had people or knew people at Prospect so it was really good.

“We can’t thank everyone enough for their donations towards yesterday’s events. Me and my family are overwhelmed with everyone’s support and are truly thankful.”

On top of the barbers £311 was raised by staff at Imagine Cruising, with a last minute £49 donation pushing the total up to £900.

Natasha, who works at Imagine Cruising, said: “We had Mohawks sprayed with red glitter and everything.

“They did so much when my dad was in there, I don’t think people realise the help that they give. They did a fantastic job and we couldn’t have done it without them.

Fundraising has become something of a family tradition - started last year by Daniel’s brother who did a skydive to raise money for Prospect on the one-year anniversary.

He added: “I guess next year if my brother doesn’t do something I’ll do it again, and make it a yearly thing."
