A CHILDREN's centre facing closure provides only a fraction of frontline services, the charity's boss has said.
Wiltshire Council will soon decide whether to close the children's centre in Cricklade, on Bath Road, which supports new mums, part of a plan to close six centres across the county.
The Rise Trust, which runs the centre, admitted it was being underused as a building.
CEO Lynn Evans, explained: "The Cricklade Centre only has eight per cent of services delivered in the centre whilst all other services in the vicinity are provided through outreach and in other community venues where the need is highest.
"I would welcome keeping all our centres however we need to save £60,000 across North Wiltshire.
"This has led us to focus our main aim on providing support for those children and families in our most vulnerable areas."
If the closure happens mums will travel to either Purton, Ridgeway Farm, or Royal Wootton Bassett.
