THE winners of the 110th Swindon Music Festival's organ classes have been announced.

Adjudicator Gary Sieling congratulated the organists who took part in the evening on Friday and was impressed by the high quality of their performances.

He said: "It's good to know that organ playing is alive and well in Swindon with a delightful selection of choirs all doing wonderful work. The evening had a great feeling of camaraderie and lovely choral singing."

Tanya Garstone received the Roger S Mant Church organ trophy for winning the church organ grade four and under class with a mark of 86, while Anna Hallett won the Bill Ruck church organ shield for coming first in the grade five and over category with a mark of 89. St Sampsons Cricklade won the church choir shield for having an 86 in the adult church choirs category and the Open Door Choir won the hill challenge shield for receiving the same mark in the adult choir class.
