TWO men needed hospital treatment after being hit in the head with an object in separate alleyway assaults on the same day.

Two attackers punched a 27-year-old man from Birmingham in the face after using the object as a weapon in an alley off Rodbourne Road, parallel to the Esso Service Station, on March 7 between 8.45pm and 9pm.

Later that evening, at around 10.15pm, an unknown attacker hit a 36-year-old Swindon man over the head with an object in an alleyway to the rear of George Street and Butterworth Street near Kingshill.

Both victims were taken to Great Western Hospital for treatment but neither sustained any serious injury.

Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses to both assaults as they believe the crimes are linked.

One suspect is black and wore a balaclava, a dark-coloured Nike puffa jacket and tracksuit bottoms. The other suspect is white, in his early 20s with dark spiked hair, around 5 foot 8" tall and of stocky build - he wore a Givenchy jumper and dark-coloured tracksuit bottoms.

Anyone who recognises the description of these two men or who witnessed either attack should could police on 101, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
