SWINDON North Rotary Club is about to organise its annual Swimathon to give people a chance to raise money for their favourite charity.

The free event on April 16 is to help local organisations collect funds and is open to people aged from eight to 80 of any ability.

The Swimathon is not a race, nor a marathon and swimmers will not have to compete against each other.

During the event, teams of four to eight members will be swimming in relay for 55 minutes, without a specific distance to complete.

Rotary Club is also taking the opportunity to raise money for the Youth Adventure Trust, a charity inspiring youngsters to reach their full potential.

Swimmers will need to give a name to their team, decide the team captain and pick the charity or organisation they want to help.

Each team member is asked to raise at least £25 sponsorship.
