A BOWEL cancer awareness roadshow will stop off in Swindon next month.
The Macmillan cancer charity's mobile bus, called Bertie, is passing through Wiltshire from April 1 - 23, which is Bowel Cancer Awareness month.
The team welcome anyone with a concern to come to them for information and advice to avoid self-diagnosing problems themselves.
Simon Leaper, Macmillan cancer information and support specialist said: “Knowing what changes to look for and when to see your doctor could make a real difference. Don’t be scared or embarrassed and don’t ignore them if you have symptoms. Get them checked.”
He added: “Most people with these symptoms do not have bowel cancer - they can be caused by other things. But don’t try to diagnose yourself, see your doctor. If you do have cancer, the sooner it’s found, the more likely it is to be successfully treated.”
The bus will be in Swindon from 9am - 3pm on April 4 at Wharf Green, at the Asda on Thames Down Drive on April 5, and the Tesco on Ocotal Way on April 18.
