The Strictly family may be spread far and wide in the summer months, while the popular TV series is off air, but they always keep in touch, in fact many of them head off on tour together.

Vincent Simone and Ian Waite are currently presenting The Ballroom Boys in the UK and Vincent's adopted country of Ireland. They will be waltzing into Swindon's Wyvern Theatre in June.

Last year Vincent was back on stage with his long time professional dance parter, also a Strictly Come Dancing veteran, Flavia Cacace. They starred in the pantomime of Snow White at the London Palladium as the king and queen.

Despite this, Vincent says that he had never seen a pantomime.

"I had never seen a panto before, it was an amazing opportunity and a great cast with Julian Clary one of our celebrity dancers on Strictly,'' said Vincent.

He and Flavia go way back to when they were both 16-years-old and studying dance at Guildford.

"We were teamed up in dance school, we were both Italian so it was a match made in heaven,'' said Vincent.

Away from the television lights, Vincent and Flavia are known for their Argentine Tango theatre shows One night they had a royal visit.

"The company manager came in and said The Duchess of Cornwall had watched the show and wanted to meet me. She came with her bodyguard and said she wished I could teach Prince Charles the Argentine Tango,'' said Vincent.

He says he is ready and waiting for the call!

As world champion Vincent will naturally have the Argentine Tango as one of the dances in The Ballroom Boys, but there will also be the Waltz, Quickstep, Paso Doble and Foxtrot. Ian and Vincent will be joined on stage by a singer and two female professional dancers.

"I had to ask Flavia's permission for that,'' grins Vincent. "Ian came up with the idea and I am up for the challenge, it has a new energy and we have meet and greet VIP tickets.''

Vincent spent seven years on BBC TV's Strictly Come Dancing and did choreography on the show before that. He says that once in the Strictly bubble there is no life outside.

"We have to look after our celebrities, we are time conscious all the time, and then there is appearances on BBC 2's Strictly It Takes Two,'' he said.

There is also a real camaraderie among the pro dancers. "I keep in touch with both my celebrities and the pro dancers,'' said Vincent. "Brendan Cole came to see us in panto and I was talking to Ian from Ireland on the phone this morning.''

Vincent has made his home in Ireland with his wife Susan and their two children Luca and Matteo and he says they are both talented - just like their dad.

"The oldest one plays the drums, and he draws and is very artistic, the little one is like me, flamboyant, fearless and a dancer,'' he said.

He says that he will tell them that dancing is a good life but tough, with teaching, performing and a lot of travelling.

Vincent believes in taking things as they come and says you never know he may go back to Strictly.

"I would love to go back as choreographer,'' he said.

Meanwhile he and Ian are at Swindon's Wyvern Theatre on Thursday, June 20 from 7.30pm. Tickets are from £28 on 01793 524481 or visit www.swindontheatres.co.uk - Flicky Harrison
