TRIBUTES have been paid by the family of a 26-year-old killed in a car crash.

Joe Hayward was killed after the crash near Broad Hinton on March 10.

He was driving a grey Peugeot 106, when it collided with a Chrysler Voyager on the A4381 northbound.

He had grown up in Devizes and completed a diploma in motor sport engineering at Lackham College before doing an apprenticeship with Audi in Swindon.

In a tribute, his family said: “Joe was a conscientious and considerate young man with a quiet charm and sense of mischief.

"He loved his family and friends and was often called upon to fix their cars in his spare time.

“He was highly regarded by his colleagues at Audi as a very competent technician. Cars were his great passion and he spent many hours restoring his collection of Peugeot 106s. He was a popular member of the Peugeot 106 owners club.

“He has a brother and sister and was soon to become an uncle for the first time. Joe will be missed by many.”

Police are appealing for anyone with information about the collision to call PC John Armstrong from Tri-Force on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
