A NEW weekly lunch club to tackle loneliness will start next Thursday.
National charity Methodist Homes for the Aged will team up with The Olive Tree Café to support older people who feel lonely or isolated.
It will serve a 2-course lunch followed by a game of bingo at the Bath Road Methodist church at 12.30.
Scheme manager Julie Dowie said: “Offering the Thursday Lunch every week will mean a wonderful opportunity for the current members and potentially new members of the Scheme to come along and enjoy the warm home cooked food; the food is traditional British food and we will aim to satisfy all who attend. Membership of the Scheme is free.”
Anyone interested in joining the Thursday club, which starts on April 4, and costs £6 per session, should contact Swindon Live at Home on 01793 827771.
