A COMMUNITY litter pick returns on Sunday morning for volunteers to tidy up Pinehurst.

The regular event is organised by RSPCA North Wiltshire and the Swindon Climate Action Network as part of the Plastic-Free Swindon campaign.

An organiser said: "We will be meeting outside of the front of Pinetrees Community Centre. Children must be supervised by responsible adults. Please bring suitable gloves and sensible clothes and be prepared for all weathers.

"Hope to see you for this event, making the area safer for wildlife and nicer for all. It's good fun and worthwhile. Be the change."

The litter pick will last from 10am to 1pm. New volunteers are welcome to come along as well as regular visitors.

Katie North from the Swindon branch of the RSPCA said: “We are thrilled to get behind SCAN to raise awareness on this really important issue. I don’t think many people realise just how big the problem of littering is in terms of the threat it causes to wildlife and other animals”.
