A MAN had to have surgery to pin his broken jaw after he was assaulted in a nightclub, a court was told.
Two men appeared before Swindon Magistrates’ Court charged with malicious wounding occasioning grievous bodily harm.
Brendor Nkegbe, 21, of Parkes Street, Birmingham, and Mouhamadou Seck, 23, of Godolphin Close, Freshbrook, entered no pleas when they appeared together in the dock on Wednesday morning .
The pair are said to have punched their victim in a Swindon town centre nightclub on June 24 last year. Prosecutor James Burnham said the man allegedly struck by the pair had required extensive surgery, with around half a dozen screws fixing his broken jaw.
Magistrates declined jurisdiction, sending the case to Swindon Crown Court.
Both men were awarded unconditional bail and are next due to appear before the crown court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on Friday, May 3.
