A FESTIVAL promoting an eco-friendly message will be held on Sunday at Savernake Street Social Hall.
Eastcott Community Organisation is hosting this event in partnership with Swindon Climate Action Network.
This year’s theme is Your Eco Lifestyle, including recycling and re-using, energy, nature and other themes.
There will be stalls run by local organisations as well as a series of talks about eating sustainably, recycling, and more.
Simon Smith of SCAN is looking forward to the event. “The Eco Fest is a great way of bringing together lots of inspirational activity and information in one place. As well as the stalls and talks we’ll have face-painting, storytelling, arts, and crafts – and thanks to funding from the Midcounties Co-op all activities are completely free.
“We’re also very fortunate to have support from some amazing local musicians and the street will be closed for a real festival atmosphere.”
Caroline Davie-Khan of Eastcott Community Organisation said: “This is the fourth time we’ve hosted the Eco Fest at Savernake Street Social Hall and it gets bigger and better each year.
“Thanks to last year’s visitor feedback, we have more food stalls than before – we’ll be joined by Old Town Brewery, Streets of India, V-Cuisine – through visitors are welcome to bring a picnic too.”
Savernake Street will be closed for the event from 9am to 6pm and there will be no parking at the event.
