TRAFFIC is queuing on the M4 near Swindon after firefighters raced to put out a car fire.
The emergency services stopped all vehicles heading westbound between Junctions 14 at Hungerford and Junction 15 at Swindon East earlier today while they dealt with the emergency.
The car has now been extinguished and recovered.
A spokesman for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called at 11.51am. Multiple calls received reporting a vehicle fire on the hard shoulder between Membury Services and Junction 15. Crews from Stratton and Newbury attended and used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet."
