Swindon charity, STEP, received a £96,000 cash boost this week.

Global’s Makes Some Noise donated the money to the charity which helps Swindon seven to 18 year olds who face isolation and exclusion due to deficient social skills, personal circumstances or poverty.

The official charity of Global, the Media & Entertainment group announced grants to 31 charities and projects across the UK. STEP was expecting to receive £32,000 but due to the generosity of Heart Wiltshire listeners, the charity accepted three times that amount.

Paul Dobson, project manager at STEP, said: “We are seeing a huge increase in Swindon of vulnerable young people crying out for support with emotional well-being and mental health concerns. Global’s Make Some Noise and Heart Wiltshire listeners are helping us to help them.”
