FORMER Town star Neil ‘Razor’ Ruddock is heading back to Swindon next month – and he’s bringing a football legend with him.

Ruddock will be joined on stage at the MECA by his ex-manager Graeme Souness, the man who persuaded him to sign for Liverpool from Tottenham Hotspur for £2.5 million in 1993.

Ruddock played for Town from 2001-03 and has since developed his career as a TV personality, appearing on I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here...

And former Rangers boss Souness is now a successful pundit on Sky Sports.

Swindon firm Red Sky Promotions is hosting the event, which was originally due to feature Jimmy Bullard. Due to other commitments, the ex-Wigan midfielder had to cancel.

Red Sky managing director Craig Bibby said: “We are extremely excited to be bringing this event to Swindon.

“It was a shame that Jimmy had to cancel but we have gone above and beyond to make sure our first show will be one to remember and that the guests are up there with the best.

“We had already sold a lot of tickets for the event and when we were told the news about the cancellation we made sure we phoned every single ticket holder to offer a full refund or to transfer their tickets across.

“This was always going to be a learning curve but we can only progress from this. We want everyone to walk away from this special night looking forward to the next event.”

The show will raise money for charity Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society, which provides support to anyone affected by the death of a baby.

The charity is close to the heart of the company as Craig’s business partner Neil Lee experienced the loss of his child.

Craig added: “This will help the charity so much and we don’t want it to be just for this night, our goal is to help them for the long term.”

On the night there will be a comedian, auction and games to win prizes.

Red Sky has partnered with Swindon Borough Council to host public events, starting in the summer.

It is part of the authority’s move to make sure Swindon businesses are used as its suppliers.

The evening with Souness and Ruddock takes place on May 31. Book tickets at tickettailor.com/events/redskypromotions1/258373
