POLICE have confirmed that they are looking into comments made by UKIP's MEP candidate for the south west Carl Benjamin.
The YouTuber who also goes by the name Sargon of Akkad received criticism for allegedly saying in one of his videos: "I can be quoted as saying you can **** young boys. It’s not as controversial as you think. Depends on the child, doesn’t it? The ancient Greeks considered it to be normal, it was mentoring.”
Mr Benjamin claims the recordings are taken from separate interviews and have been spliced together.
The alleged comments form part of a dossier sent to Wiltshire Police by a UKIP member who spoke to the Mail on Sunday.
A spokesman for Wiltshire Police said: "We can confirm we have been given some material in relation to this matter and it is being reviewed."
